Separating creative fatigue from audience quality
A network’s CTR falls. Someone kills the source. Two sprints later a new asset on the same network prints retained users again. The score was never about the network. It was about one tired video.
Acquisition channel quality scoring has to hold creative and audience as separate objects. Otherwise your ledger becomes a graveyard of sources that still had inventory.
A small protocol we use on Silom
When performance drops, freeze the audience definition for seven days and rotate at least two new assets that are not reskins of the loser. If retained quality returns, the channel score stays; the asset is retired. If new assets fail in the same pattern, the audience or the inventory pool is the defect, and the source score moves down.
This is slower than a dashboard toggle. It is also how you avoid paying a “new network” premium for the same people under a different logo.
Where teams still get stuck
Some MMP creative reports lag SKAN by enough that the seven-day freeze is guesswork. Say so on the ledger. A score that admits lag is more useful than a confident wrong kill. Calibration Lab spends an extra night on this exact failure mode.
